Album Notes

The Kominas went on tour in the Summer of 2006 with such punk bands as Al Thawra (Chicago), Secret Trail Five (Vancouver), Vote Hezbollah (San Antonio), Diacritical (DC) and rapper MC Riz (London). All groups consisted of marginalized Immigrant youth of Pakistani, Indian, Syrian, Palestinian, Iranian and even American ancestry. With feet in two separate cultures we took steps to create our own. This is ours.

i've read "the taqwacores" by M.M. Knight a few months ago and then i heard The Kominas on myspace. It's really great innovative punk rock with a real the clash presence and elements of oriental culture. Sometimes, a few metal riffs in the guitars...i truly love it !

Broadening my tastes

A family friend of a memeber of The Kominas is a co-worker of mine. He gave me \"Wild Nights In Guantanamo Bay\" to listen to since he said he isn\'t very familiar with punk rock. I\'m halfway through it as I type this and I must say, this is very different from anything I\'ve ever heard before. Very well done, keep up the good work guys!
