Newcastle boy Steve Kopandy sings with his heart...
author: Newcastle Herald
Newcastle boy Steve Kopandy sings with his heart, soul and whole inner being. He is well-travelled, has healed many a broken heart, is passionate and likes living on the edge. And his album BASED ON shows all of this. Written while travelling throughout 2005/06, the nine track album is raw, moving and above all else, a showcase of one talented musician. The first track, the lyrically driven Paris in the Winter is a haunting tale of a lonely winter in Europe following a break-up. 1997teen is an uplifting tune about innocently falling in love as a teenager and how awkward it can feel. Corona and Lime tells of a drunken night on the dance floor and being woken the next morning by someone not speaking the same language. This track also features the beautiful voice of local songstress Marissa Saroca. Touching and poignant, the album deserves a listen.

Based On falls nothing short of spectacular, Paris In the Winter starts you on a journey through your on interepretations of your own life, Falls to You, Falls To YOU! And 1997teen could be anymore right, even tho I wasn't quite a teen then. Corona & Lime is a strange, dark, yet happy and sad track, definatly worth a listen. My personal favourite, Fever! A song that speaks for itself. Another highlight is the ender song Lost Your Mind, which makes you do just that.
A great CD, a song for every mood. Well worth the $ spent!
