Album Notes

'A True Dream' is part 2 of Steve Kopandy's debut double album. Inspired by world travels and living in Europe, this emotive journey through living, loving and leaving comes with a photographic journey. So far it's received great reviews in Australia and the USA.

dabbling in keyboard presets, guitars and pianos, relationships and song writing since an early age, Kopandy has been searching. He’s been to school, he’s lived in slums, He’s traveled the world, he’s had his heart healed and broken by Girls and God. He fights with love and he fights with music. He’s got 2 tigers by the tails.

these two albums push two opposite boundaries for Steve. The writer vs the performer, the singer vs the producer, yet he manages to bring two worlds together using love and music as the common denominator. It’s a lyrical, love bound journey through life.
In the 80’s Steve listened Cyndi Lauper and the Police.
In the 90’s it was Springsteen and Simply Red.
In the 00’s it’s Ryan Adams and Sufjan Stevens

With moving songwriting, great musicians and producers, and a whole lot of passion, Kopandy’s music comes long awaited and well refined.

A True Dream to listen to...
author: Kriss
From the first note of “Breaking Boundaries” your ears are held captive to the sound of this wonderful album. Lyrics from “Rock’n’roll, Soho and the Coffee” set the basis for the entire body of work - “Music is my therapy, my guitar takes notes...” the songs which follow are evidence of that, flowing effortlessly through various moods, and recollections of experience in life & love. Kopandy gives so much to his music that he makes the listener feel as though the emotions conveyed are their own. A fine example is “Amsterdam” – truly heart-wrenching & saxophone-fuelled. Amazing. “Castle’s” haunting melodies are almost goose-bump enducing. As for the rest of the album? You will have to find out for yourselves! Buy it. It could be one of the best investments you ever make...

Great album!

From uplifting rock choruses like "Rock'n'roll, Soho and The Coffee" to love inspired tracks like "Amsterdam", A True Dream sets out to further express Kopandy's travels, experiences and relationships, with much success. There's much lyrics and feelings to relate to, such as "Baby can't you see I've only got two knees/ And I can't live confined with all these memories" and the ever catchy "Miss Delicate" track will leave you anticipating what's next for this Newcastle artist. A True Dream, overall, is an album well put together and it's Kopandy's talent to put you into his shoes for a track at a time that seals my final take. Which is: for only 6.99 this cd is generously under priced and we learn something about Steve... "I don't want people to see me as a commercial guy. I want people to know me as a creative, loving, world helper. I want fame for this, not fortune. Fame gives you reach and influence. I hope people can trust my influence."- Steve Kopandy, Lyric Series 7 on Myspace.
