Mike Kovacs and the Post-Modern Tribe are one of the most original pop bands out on the scene today. With a world full of plastic music where lyrical content and musical ability have about as much value as Stravinsky at a Brittany Spears concert, his music carries passion and a respect for the craft of songwriting that has become very rare these days. Combining his classical composition training at Rutgers University with being in rock, pop, metal, and folk bands for years, Mike Kovacs combines it all together into a unique sound that follows in the tradition of Bob Mould, indigo girls, Elvis Costello, REM, and many others. His unique use of alternate guitar tunings and cello arrangements, as well as passionate lyrics, place his music in a place all their own.
