Album Notes

The Kowalskis are not from outer space, They have no super powers. Their parents are nobodies. No matter. An ugly cease & desist letter from the wrestler Killer Kowalski didn't stop them. Not two blown van engines. Not the closing of Coney Island High, where Kitty was owner. Kowalskis are gearing up to record their next sonic assault.

The Kowalskis have toured the US, Europe & Canada to support "Goofballs", organized, booked & promoted themselves, funded with their own sweaty dollars, CD and merch sales. The Kowalskis' first show was with Iggy Pop, followed by The Ramones, The Toy Dolls, The Dickies, The Get Up Kids, Groovie Ghoulies, The Dictators, Limp, Stiff Little Fingers, The Rezillos and plenty of nobodies.

The Kowalskis debut CD "All Hopped Up On Goofballs" is as frenzied as a convertible stuffed with underage girls driving to the beach in the summertime. Fans say The Kowalskis are fun. They remember the songs & sing them at home. The Kowalskis have unnecessarily kind reviews from CMJ, SonicNet, Flipside, Punk Planet, Shredding Paper, Paper Magazine, radio airplay stations for the deaf & live internet shows for geeks, all garnered with their own stamps, jiffy bags, e-mails & phone calls.

"100% catchy. After listening to The Kowalskis, I couldn't get (it) to stop playing in my head! This band plays the kind of songs you can't forget. Singer (Kitty) graces the music with a unique, sultry singing voice and peppy personality which keeps the music's energy high."

Kitty has made guest appearances on other recordings, was in the Troma Toxic Avenger film, "Terror Firmer", & has a regular column, NY ROX on www.coolgrrrls.com. Mike (also known as "Ace Freakus" ) joins us from The Vacant Lot, And Mitzi joins us from The Friggs,

Never leaves the player

I've had this disc for a few months and it hasn't left the player for long. Infectious, fun, funny rocking music that harkens back to Blondie but never feels dated. It's a party disc and a great road disc!

Blondie Re-incarnated!
author: Ira Rosen
Once upon a time - before disco - punk ruled the galaxy (or, at least , NYC). Debbie Harry was its queen. Well, things change, but real punk doesn't. Kitty Kowalski now rules the punk world (or, at least, NYC). Worship her. I shall remain hopped up on goofballs.
