Album Notes

Since 1965, Pete Bailey has entertained people numbering in the tens of thousands (probably more) without most ever even knowing his name.

But in 1970 and 1971, there were few music fans in Texas who had NOT seen, heard or at least heard of the bands "Josefus" and "StoneAxe". Pete Bailey was the front man, lead vocalist and principle lyricist for both of these bands.

All the bad things that can happen to a band, happened to both these bands and Pete went on to become the best known night club DJ in Houston, Texas. He simply refused to sing cover songs in cover bands, but he was willing to play these songs on a turntable. He became known as "Kamikaze Pete" and that little drink (the "Kamikaze") was named after him in 1975. THAT alone is an interesting story, but too long to tell here.

All the while Pete continued to write songs and some of those songs have made it on the "Blood On The Moon" CD for sale here.

What is truly most amazing, is that NOW, at over 60 years old, his stage and performance intensity has not subsided, but seems more intense than ever! He sweats everything but blood and will possibly one day do that. He makes no plan for a stage performance, the beat of drums and a few power chords possess him, changing him into something else. "Lycanthropy" is a fictional transformation, but Pete Bailey is the most real version of it you will ever see. He leaves it all on the stage.

This collection of 12 songs is an accurate capture of that transformation. PREPARE TO BE TRANSFORMED AS WELL!

REVIEWS

Awesome and Bad-A**!!
author: Jeff Hale
For those of you who know Pete Bailey, this CD will either come as a complete surprise or confirmation of what you already know is a great talent and an awesome performer. The songs are extremely well-produced and will bring back memories of Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk RR, Ozzie Osborne, and other hard rockin' artists. The messages are timely, politically and socially relevant and well spoken. Pete's harmonica playing is up there with the best of them, and his vocals range from sultry crooning to a banshee wail and everything in between. The support players have done and extraordinary job of brining Pete's aural vision to life. This CD is a MUST HAVE!
