Album Notes

“Classic & Minimalism meets Electronic”

This could possibly be one short description for the new album release of Viennese pianist, keyboarder and composer Gerald Krampl.

With INNOCENT WASTELAND he has this time radically turned away from commercial concessions like radio playability, accessibility, clear song structures etc., in favor of a more free, his personal roots reaching music understanding.
The Music stays aside the electronic tunes on a minimalistic base of piano and a maximum of two more synthetic string sounds (viola or violin + cello), extended with various sound effects, which add to the whole the character of a sound track. It was in mind, that it should be possible to easily perform this music live with a small ensemble in the near future.
The overall theme of the album, which could nearly be seen as a concept album, is in general devoted to the cycle of destruction (of nature, the planet, society etc.) and the afterwards always following new awakening.
