ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Krapyl is a danish medieval ensemble that began its journey in 2006 from Institute of Musicology in Copenhagen, Denmark. Two students became obsessed with medival and renaissance music and during an assignment about european minstrels they bought copys of authentic instruments - a swedish hurdy-gurdy and a spanish shawm. After playing together for a few weeks they founded the band which today consists of four band members: Jens Jellingsø (Hurdy-Gurdy, Zink, Trombone), Andreas Palsgård (Shawms, Flutes, Bag-pipe, Crumhorn), Simon Jarløv (Violin, Rebec, Mandolin) and Mikkel Brunberg (Drums, Percussion). The bands musical repertoire consists of both instrumental dances, a capella singing and mixed music with lyrics about medieval life.
