Album Notes

The Kreellers are a high energy Celtic Rock group hailing from Detroit, Michigan. This four-piece powerhouse has been unstoppable, performing over 100 shows in 2009, recording the music for Fuji’s Enviromax Battery ad campaign, and writing and recording new tunes for their upcoming CD. Still steeped in traditional Irish sound, the band’s mix of rock, funk, and even punk elements has created a sound that has won over fans, critics, and even skeptics throughout the North and Midwest and has made them one of the most sought after Celtic acts in the region.

Artist: The Kreellers Album: Sixth And Porter Do you love harmonica and drums? Are you into Celtic rock? If so, this CD is a peppy and fun one, offering up plenty of tracks that pound out energy and verve. I thought it was a lot of fun! The musicianship here is fantastic and the vocals strong. A great selection of tunes helps keep the listener engaged, but for me it was the harmonica that kept my foot a tappin’. Something about that instruments makes me feel happy, and there’s plenty of it to go around on this album. The percussion provides enough backbone and everything else fills in nicely. You won’t find pipes or fiddle as the centerpiece here, so if that’s what you’re into, you might want to look elsewhere. That said, don’t pass on this CD because of that–the music is full and bright and the arrangements are top notch. This is one of those albums where choosing a favorite track or two was just impossible for me. I found myself looking forward to each new song to see what it was going to bring to the table. None of them disappointed. If you are hoping to find a band with style and energy that can knock things out of the park–be sure to give this band a try. Catherine L. A Great Band!

The Kreellers is a band I will listen to again and again. It's hard not to like every song and hope that all your friends will learn one or two so the oppurtunity may arise that you might all drink a few beers together and sing along. Whether you're Irish or not, you'll love the heart and soul put into the music and lyrics with songs that are just fun to songs that show the struggle of Irish immigrants. Slainte!

I really liked them as the Bruno Brothers. I absolutely LOVE them as the Kreellers! Went to see them on Friday night in the Detroit area and bought this CD. I haven't stopped playing it yet! Love the original tunes as well as songs borrowed from Great Big Sea and, of course, the traditional rebel and drinking songs! Absolutely wonderful CD. I would recommend this CD to anyone. I would even more recommend seeing them live. We are getting a group of friends together to see them when they are back in the Detroit area in a couple weeks. We hope to fill the place. Such infectious energy. The drummer is a beast and drives everything. You cannot help jumpin' up and done when they are crankin' out their tunes.
