Finnegan was born in St. Paul MN in 1973, but claims he was technically born in 1985 when he first picked up the guitar and then a few weeks later saw Leo Kottke on a PBS special. Since then he has spent every waking moment with a guitar in his lap creating his own solo instrumental guitar pieces in lieu of having a social life. It has been said that "Finnegan is one of the best guitar players in Minneapolis"... by someone other than Finnegan himself, no less!
Over the years, solo acoustic guitar became a really nice way to keep him entertained and kill time while not playing with his freak-out rock band Iced Ink or making atonal jigsaw puzzle recordings under the pseudonym Honkeylips.
