Album Notes

Celeste Krenz and Rebecca Folsom have been known separately for a bit in Nashville circles as songwriters, and their break came when they performed at an in-the-round at the Bluebird Café. They were struck by the way their voices meshed with one another, and that their songs seemed to reflect similar sensibilities so they decided to team up and do this disc together. They both sing the lead vocals and play acoustic guitars and they are backed by a variety of musicians; and they either, individually, together, or with the help of various others wrote 12 of the 13 songs on this disc with the lone exception being Willie Dixon's 29 Ways. The songs are insightful and have substance to them. The voices are well matched and form almost seamless harmonies, but the disc is dreamy and with pale pastel colors not bright, vibrant and glowing with life, as the songs deserve. I would love to hear this with a spark of life injected, as the songs are that well written.
