KRISTEN VIGARD: God, Loves and Angels
Vigard’s angelic, shimmering voice serves to uplift
and inspire. This acoustic pop-folk invites repeated
listenings. You’ll be treated to several songs from
her “God Loves and Angels†CD, all perfectly arranged,
produced and performed. “The End of Time†is an
entrancing number with a breathtaking vocal. Her
interpretation of Neil Young’s “Old Man†brings a soft
new texture to the song.
Review: Hot Indie 100
"Kristen Vigard has a soothing sweet vocal ... reminds me of the fascinating intimacy Karen Carpenter had in her voice... also musically this CD is very interesting... with fine easy listening orchestral arrangements...here and there backed by seventies Burt Bacharach melodies...her song "God Give Me Strength" is a masterpiece useable for any romantic or melancholy film, it would have fit perfectly in Barbara Streisand's and Liza Minnelli's repertoire in their glory days, but Kristen presents it with a link to the music of today."

Kristen Vigard: Bio
Just released on Cosmic Fish Media is the new CD from Kristen Vigard entitled God, Loves and Angels. This 16 track collection contains original songs plus a brand new recording of Kristen’s Academy Award nominated hit God Give Me Strength (recorded with a full orchestra.)
After six years in theatre, Kristen landed the title/starring roll in Annie in its pre-Broadway run at Connecticut’s Goodspeed Opera House. Later she had success on both the big screen and television landing roles in Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece The Black Stallion and at the same time co-starred with Henry Fonda in the made-for-TV movie special Home to Stay. Later that year she received considerable acclaim for her performance in the ABC television After School Special Cruise of the Courageous. In 1977 she received rave reviews for her performance in the Broadway revival of Hair and went on to play one of the lead roles in Richard Rogers
last Broadway musical I Remember Mama.
On the long running soap opera The Guiding Light, Kristen played opposite Kevin Bacon as the character Morgan Richards. She has been on the cover of People Magazine as one of the “Torrid Teens of the Soaps†and was selected by TV Guide as one of the ten most beautiful women on television.
Despite her success, Kristen chose to take two years off to from acting to finish high school and simultaneously attended the Juilliard School of Music extension program where she studied classical orchestration and music appreciation.
Upon her return to acting she landed the role of Tina on One Life To Live. Later she appeared in the ABC Movie of the Week License To Kill and guest starred on several television shows including Fame, The Equalizer and Amazing Stories and in the feature film The Survivors.
After moving to Los Angeles, Kristen focused her talents on music joining the eclectic group known as Trullio Disgracias. Officially the band has over 28 members including musicians from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone and Thelonias Monster. It was while playing with this group that she was offered a recording contract with Private Music. Coincidentally, on that same night, she was offered the chance to be a background singer for Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Mother’s Milk Tour.
Her debut album charted in Billboard Magazine and was selected by Playboy as one of the “Top 100 Albums of the Year.†She toured Europe extensively opening for top musicians including Taj Mahal. She currently maintains a loyal following through out Europe.
Kristen has worked with many gifted songwriters and musicians including: David Bearwald, Will Sexton, George Clinton, Richard Boston, Larry Klein and Chris Bejole. Her work as both a vocalist and composer is included on several soundtrack albums including Cool Blue, Dr. Giggles, Clueless and Ladybugs to name just a few.
In 1996 she was the singing voice of actress Illeana Douglas in the film Grace of My Heart (Warner Bros) and her stunning performance of God Give Me Strength was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Song Of The Year.
God, Loves and Angels was recorded in Los Angeles, California during the summer / fall of 2005 by legendary producer Chris Bejole. Chris and Kristen were introduced by Los Angeles radio station DJ Chris Douridas of KCRW where both frequently receive airplay on their individual projects. This new full length CD God, Loves and Angels is the spectacular result of their combined efforts.

GL&A shows Kristen Vigard's adult sensibilities
author: Mike Howell
In 1990, Kristen Vigard's first album hit the mark with me as a young adult. Sixteen years later, "God, Loves and Angels" satisfies my more mature tastes. Her singing has maintained its effortless quality with a breathless urgency at all the right moments, especially in "End Of Time." The songs are all musically and lyrically interesting, but some of the romantic songs border on hyperbolic praise, especially "He Is Real", which seems halfway between love song and hymn. The covers of "Old Man" and "Ripple" fit in very nicely with the other songs as well. GL&A is entertaining, accessible, and worth a listen.
