Album Notes

Once again, pop phenomenon Kristine W is proving why she remains the boss of the dance floor. Her latest release, “The Boss”, a remake of Diana Ross’ 1979 classic, is making a quick ascent up the Billboard Dance charts.

Kristine W. holds the title as the first artist in the history of Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play to release nine consecutive number one singles (beating records previously held by Madonna and Janet Jackson who each had seven). She achieved her tenth #1 hit with last summer’s “Walk Away”. She aims to score lucky eleven this winter.

“The Boss is one of the records that I used to sing in front of the mirror when I was a kid,” explained Kristine W, upon hearing the news of the songs promising debut on the Billboard chart. “It's so fun for me to have been able to put my own twist on the classic.”

Hailing from Pasco, Washington, the accomplished singer, musician, songwriter and producer began her career in beauty pageants. She won the titles of Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Washington and placed first in the talent competition at the Miss America pageant. She then moved to Las Vegas and headlined her own show at the Las Vegas Hilton. Numerous accolades followed, including several Las Vegas “Entertainer of the Year” awards. Kristine performed more live shows at the Las Vegas Hilton than any other performer in its history—including Elvis. In fact, June 28, 1998 was officially sanctioned Kristine W day in the state of Nevada.

In 1995, Kristine hit the top of the national dance music charts with the now classic Feel What You Want. She signed with RCA Records and released the 1997 critically acclaimed album, LAND OF THE LIVING, featuring the #1 Billboard smashes One More Try, Feel What You Want and the album's title track, Land of the Living.

In 2000, she released her second album from RCA Records, STRONGER. The album's title track and the timeless single Lovin' You added to Kristine's vault of number one singles.

Some Lovin’ became her sixth #1 record. It was also the lead off single for the hit Showtime television series, QUEER AS FOLK, which produced a music video featuring Kristine and the cast from the show.

In 2004, after overcoming her two-year battle with leukemia, Kristine released her third album, FLY AGAIN, with Tommy Boy Records. The album yielded an additional three #1 hits: the title track Fly Again, Save My Soul and The Wonder of It All.

Two years later, in 2006, Kristine reached #1 again with the single release of I’ll Be Your Light. Then, last summer, she triumphantly returned to the top spot with her tenth #1, Walk Away.

The new single, The Boss, was originally written for Diana Ross by the legendary writing team of Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson; the duo that had helped Ross reach the top of the charts for the first time as a solo artist with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Kristine’s version of The Boss features remixes by Johnny Vicious, Tracy Young, Jamie Sanchez,
Paul Goodyear, and UK favorites Love To Infinity.

Kristine W’s fourth dance album, THE POWER OF MUSIC, is tentatively scheduled to be released the spring of 2008.
