Kristin Mills is an accomplished Americana-style singer-songwriter that hails from Asheville, North Carolina. With an enchanting voice that has been compared to Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch, her powerful songs encompass a variety of genres, including folk, bluegrass, and acoustic rock, and pay homage to her Appalachian roots. Her live performances are assured to bring a unique energy to any atmosphere.
Kristin began her musical career at the age of 17 with the release of her self-titled debut album in 1999. Shortly thereafter, she became one-half of the popular Asheville folk-duo, "Kristin and Keturah," who released their self-titled album in 2004 and delighted listeners for over six years. Kristin now performs solo, and her newest album, "Across The Blue Ridge Mountains," a unique collection of folk, bluegrass, and Americana rock tunes, was released in July of 2007.
A veteran of the Western North Carolina music scene, Kristin has performed at venues such as The Orange Peel, Hannah Flanagan's, The Gypsy Moon, The Root Bar, and Jordan Street Cafe. She has also performed at regional festivals including Bele Chere, Sistahs On Stage, and OrganicFest. Her music is frequently featured on WNCW FM.
Kristin holds a Voice Performance Degree from UNC-Asheville. In addition to her singer/songwriter career, Kristin is the Choral Director at Asheville Middle School and frequently appears in regional opera and musical theater productions.
