Album Notes

Sadhu is a stylish cafe in Kuressaare (the only town on the Estonian island Saaremaa) where you can often find live music events. I’ve attended many of them but this time it was just an average Monday morning when I grabbed the guitar to play a few tunes on the hottest day of the year.

Kristo Käo: “Too many guitar recordings are polished in studios for months and are nearly perfect in many ways - put together from hundreds of takes, resulting no mistakes, superb sound and so on. But sometimes I feel that the more you polish the greater is the chance to wash out some essential things in music - the human feelings and the soul of the music itself. Music on this disc is not the one that would fit to a concert hall. That's my opinion and with this CD I'd like to thank the people who keep organizing live-music events and jam sessions. Keep going!”

Kristo Käo is an Estonian guitarist, tutor and researcher. He is the author of the unique guitar method “Guitar School - the Key to the Practical Guitar Playing” and founder of the web-based music school www.guitarschool.ee. Currently teaching at the Estonian Academy of Music and working on his PhD at the Uni. of Tartu.
