Self-described as "a drummer turned guitarist," Kristy Lee’s rhythmic instrumental arrangements are the momentum that push her voice to the forefront. Equipped with stories and original songs, she brings a certain presence to the stage, engaging with audiences on an emotional, relational and spiritual level. For Kristy, music is an experience that draws people out of loneliness, leading them to a refuge of healing. Lee's intention is for audiences to find hope through her art form and discover how to emerge from the pain and chaos of life. It also serves as a platform for her to share truth about personal struggle. By acknowledging painful issues and experiences, Kristy has the opportunity to direct others to the hope that exists in following Christ despite circumstance.
In 2011, Kristy independently released an original single called “From the Grave” that was recorded with friend and co-producer Paul Matthew in Cleveland, OH. What followed in June of 2012 was an original 7-song stripped down ep called "Past Beginnings," also independently released with the help of friend Paul Matthew. Past Beginnings features Kristy's gentle folk vocals reminiscent of Dolores O'Riordan (of the Cranberries) over top of her rhythmic, organic acoustic guitar.
Lee has performed in over thirteen cities regionally, opening for national acts such as Brian Vander Ark (the Verve Pipe), Red Wanting Blue, Ligion, Alathea, and Honor By August.
Currently, Kristy is working on recording a full-length project with Matthew in Cleveland, OH which will likely consist of songs with stronger elements, featuring more instruments and harmonious background vocals, which is Lee’s forte.
