She Said So
author: Naomi Backwards
I had been walking all day through the desert in North Texas when I realized the blisters on my feet were spawning their own. My parent's had just won 20 million in the lottery the week before and decided that my income as a dropout would just interfere with their steady progress toward good credit and country club talent shows. On my way to Seattle. A place as far away from this time warp of karaoke singers with redneck tendencies as I could get. As I made camp I glanced at my solution and thumbed my one and only bullet,(I had shot an armadillo in Dallas just to watch him die.) Should I? Of course. Well maybe. I don't know. I decided to smoke my last joint and listen to some music and think about it. The Doors, John Lee Hooker, Makavelli. Oh yeah, this Kron Studios album I had been given by an aquaintance in Houston she said "It may just get you somewhere" I remember listening to the new album, but mostly I remember feeling inspired and totally pain free. This was somewhat of a phenomenom-a gaze, a smile, a chance. I remember mosquito bites the next day all over because I couldn't focus on anything but this delicous, unrestraint music coming through my 20 dollar headphones. So the next day I kept going, and the next and so on. As I sit here in Portland, a day away from Seattle I think about what she said."It just may get you somewhere" It has and will continue to. I know I will have to go to Kingston to meet these young men and tell them what they mean to me and what this record does. I guess music can change one's life, one's will. Please don't hesitate because life is but a sound away. I know this is a long review but I think it is important and everyone should know about Kron Studios.
