Album Notes
Born in York, PA and graduated from West Chester U. near Philadelphia where he won the DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE scholarship to Berklee College of Music in his senior year, Keith Scott, a full time musician of 35 years in night clubs and concert stages has performed with other Jazz greats including Phil Woods and Michael Brecker in the earlier years. Recently Keith has been in concert with Jazz and studio legends Slyde Hyde and Gabe Baltazar (Stan Kenton Band). During the interim years, Scott performed with Rock, Top 40, Country, Jazz and show bands in Philadelphia, the Catskill and Pocono mountains, the Jersey Shore, Toronto, Nashville, Myrtle Beach, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Ft. Meyers, Naples, Daytona Beach, Key West, St Thomas(Virgin Islands),and for the past 3 years in Hawaii at Da Smoke House and the Ala Moana Hotel on Oahu. Keith is also playing piano with some of the best convention and jazz ensembles in Hawaii

"This superb instrumental album is driven by strong, memorable melodies and Scott's uncanny ablilty to crossover seamlessly from traditional, to smooth and fusion with finely controlled virtuosity," says Marvin Franklin (D.J. at K 108 Radio in Honolulu).

Keith toured some of Japan´s finest jazz clubs in April of 2005. His quartet, also featuring Henry Allen on guitar, was very well recieved and expected to return in ´06.

In his review of "Waikiki" Wayne Harada, music critic for the Honolulu Advertiser says "Keith's interpretation of Santana's EUROPA is inspired and right on the mark, with the flugelhorn utilized as an expressive voice. Yet this set doesn't shout at you; it's a gentle and relaxing excursion into the soul of a committed musician."

June 2008 update.

Takes me back to Hawaii every time I listen to it.
Love the music. Smooth and relaxing. Something every fan of Hawaii should have, since it makes you feel like you are actually there.

Ron Kert -- Tampa, Florida

Excellent blend of mostly originals with a few covers ...
This is a stellar CD. It has mostly Keith's brilliant original jazz compositions. There are a few wonderful covers of some great composers' tunes, as well. Keith's keyboard and horn playing, as always, are absolutely superb.

Wonderful sense of time and melody!!!! G.David Ad was great!
The wonderful thing about this music is that it is all created by the same human being. I have only listened to the teaser tracks, but I have had the priveledge of working with the artist and he, and his music, like a fine wine have gotten better with "age".

John Berger, Honolulu Weekend

The title song on this CD could easily be beefed up and re-recorded for use in a movie soundtrack

The Outlook: This is a wonderful easy-listening "find".
Our Take: Great Scott--- we have a stellar artist awaiting induction into the galaxy of Island music greats.

We are enjoying your CD! People are going to love it, especially your playing the flugel horn with one hand while playing the piano with the other. We like your compositions the best. Keep writing. It's good stuff.

Honolulu Star Bulletin

Flugelhorn and electric piano are the two instruments that make this debut album by Keith Scott a success. Almost all the songs are originals, and Scott's keyboard talent is nicely utilized in the several styles of pop and fusion jazz. Scott's use of muted horn makes "Until There Was You" soothing, ambient music, while the presence of organ and multi-tracked horns on "Immeasurably Cool" adds an appealing up tempo, soulful element.
"Minute Waltz, Op. 64 #1 and "Europa" add instantly recognizable melodies by other composers to an album that rewards repeat listening.

This is a fantastic CD that shows just how talented Keith is. Not only are the arrangments first rate, but the playing is awesome. This is a great sounding and looking CD. My friend Ron Kert ( one of the top vocalist in Tampa) turned me on to Keith's music and I am forever grateful!
