notes
This is my first CD, released in late 1998.
It is flawlessly produced by Dave Hall (no relation) and has several outstanding cuts in several genres.
Most notable are the original songs, including the inspirational country song, "I Can, I Will"; the power rock ballad, "Heart on My Sleeve"; the tender "The Eiffel Tower Song"; the sumptuous ballad "Maybe"; surprisingly effective jazz tracks "Weekends With You" and "Heartbreaker City"; and the duet with Clare Cooper on her wedding hit, "Starting Today".
The first track to get airplay, however, was the shattering, languid version of Orbison's "Crying", and I pretty much reinvented Morrisette's "You Learn", if I may say so! This album, I'm proud to say, has withstood the test of time and is still getting play (most recently the anthem "Hearts and Voices" after September 11, 2001) and selling.

Great CD - an eclectic mix of styles
author: Patrick CTop notch debut recording. Kevin performs(with great ease) a wide range of styles. The original music is terrific - standouts for me are Heartbreaker City and Weekends with You. There is something for everyone on this CD.
This one keeps me smiling ......
author: CarmenEvery time I listen to this CD, which is often, I find myself smiling. In this crazy, fast-paced world, Kevin Scott Hall's effortless, smooth and easy style are gentle on my soul and mind. The covers of "You Learn" and "Crying" take on a brand new, very appealing sound. The original songs are touching and inspirational. Among my favorites are "The Eiffel Tower Song", "Maybe", "Weekends With You" and "Starting Today". When you read Kevin's bio and learn more about his life, the songs become even more meaningful, and you can't help but fall in love with this "irrepressible guy". Kevin is a great talent, don't pass this one by!
Enjoyable and moving
author: Ron BlumIt's hard to believe that this is a first effort. A mixture of soft jazz and easy listening, this genre isn't normally my cup of tea, but this compilation stirred something in me. "Starting Today" conveys a subduded but powerful sense of hope, and Kevin's cover of "Crying" makes the song his own. But above all, I dare you to listen to "Maybe" without shedding a tear.
