Though I'm proud of this straight-forward acoustic piece, and a lot of people have commented on how well they like it, it's the kind of song nobody really wants to write.

Album Notes

Now available for download for a more reasonable price right here at CD Baby!!

This was meant to be included on a compilation of my more laid back material. I wanted to go back and overdub a second guitar to fill out the sound, as well as redo the vocals, but people keep telling me to "Leave it alone and get it out there!" So here it is.

"From Here to Eternity" was also played on a local radio station on September 11, 2002, in a tribute to those lost on 9/11.

I wish I could just give a copy of this to anyone who wants one. But, things like postage, envelopes, blank CD's, etc make that rather cost prohibitive. I don't actually expect people to BUY a CD with only two versions of the same song on for 5 bucks, but I cetainly won't stop you!$5.00 is the lowest they'll let me price it. However, you will notice that the MP3 download price is reasonable. If anybody DOES buy a hard-copy (CD), please be advised that it will just be a CD-R burned on my home computer. (But will be burned at the slowest speed for the best possible sound quality, and will include a lyric sheet). Like I said before, this was mainly meant for digital distribution at this point.

From Here to Eternity

Sunrise on a new life,
sunset on the old
Passageway to Paradise
Lined with streets of gold

No time that we can choose
try though as we may
Only so much little time
before we're called away

CHORUS:
From here to eternity
I see the glowing light
A perfect picture of love
on the other side
From here to eternity
I feel the warming rays
A perfect picture of love
and I know you'll be okay

You don't see it coming,
not until it's there
I guess there are some reasons
no matter how unfair

Through the valley of death I'll walk
and I shall not fear
Nothing more than happiness
waiting for me here

Repeat Chorus

I can't find the appropriate words to describe this song, and do it justice. This song is beautiful, and the singer definitely has talent. Though it brought tears to my eyes, I can also feel peace when I hear this song. I like the beauty of the tune, and the lyrics. I was spellbound! I think this would make a very nice gift.

Scott is my son, and I will never forget the first time I heard this song. When he was playing the CD in the car, I did NOT know it was him singing, so I was being completely objective. I asked him, "Who is the singer, that is beautiful!" He had not told me anything about the song. Paradoxically, the song is sad, but comforting. I think it would be comforting to anyone who has lost a loved one, and I--although I hope it's a very long time before this happens--plan on having this played at my funeral. Scott, I am proud of you, and so is your dad!
