EVENSONG is a 2-CD set which tells the story of Jonathan and Dawn, star-crossed lovers in colonial New England who are placed under a deadly curse by Legion (a.k.a. The Devil). Through Legion's treachery, Jonathan becomes the vampire Evensong, whose human nature struggles against his vampiric compulsion to bring Dawn into his undead realm. A story told entirely in song, EVENSONG is a unique conceptual work, a Vampire Rock Opera.
Composer Thomas Kugler has a background in classical music and years of experience playing in rock bands, most recently the Los Angeles band Fang O' Love. Combining elements of both disciplines, this album places members of Fang O' Love with singers and players from other L.A. bands, including W.A.C.O., Sunhouse, Forrest Lawn, and Leather Hyman, in various combinations and stylistic settings.
A self-produced work, EVENSONG achieves high standards of professionalism in its production and performances. The set is nicely complemented by a beautiful 24-page booklet with full lyrics, photos, and credits. A must-have for vampire fans and those who love conceptual rock albums!
