With its blend of hard-hitting rock and classical instruments, the musical style could be called "electric baroque;" LILITH is like a treasure unearthed from a legendary lost period of music, with rock and orchestral music co-existing in harmony.

Album Notes

Composer Thomas Kugler presents "LILITH - The Rock Opera," a 24-song double-CD set which retells the Creation story with the addition of Lilith, the first woman created to be Adam's wife.

Coming to life as a spellbinding nymphomaniac, Lilith is condemned to Hell by God instead, to join Satan as his bride.

Lilith and Satan then conspire to bring about Adam and Eve's fall from grace and bring sin into the world when they are no longer under God's protection in Eden.

A story told entirely in song, LILITH features 30 musicians and singers, including members of Fang Of Love, W.A.C.O., Pigmy Love Circus, Listing Ship, and Soho Vamp.

LILITH's singers and players incorporate rock vocals and electric instruments with orchestral arrangements and operatic motifs to create a wholly unique sound and a fascinating conceptual work.

LILITH is Kugler's second rock opera, the followup to "EVENSONG - A Vampire Rock Opera," released in 2000 and staged in 2001 in Hollywood's Jewel Box Theatre Center.

LILITH is intended for the stage as well; its blend of music and drama are inherently complementary.

With its witch's brew of hard-hitting rock and classical instruments, the musical style could be called "electric baroque;" LILITH is like a treasure unearthed from a legendary lost period of music, when rock and orchestral music co-existed in harmony.
