Kumasound is a digital body with an analog soul. Textural guitars hold a conversation in an electronic soundscape. Rhythmic poetry is expressed through powerful yet vulnerable female vocals. There are no true separate parts of Kumasound, just the final product of expressive sounds and lyrics that draws the listener inside the music.
The Rewind EP features dynamic 808 drum machine driven textures (Alone), sweet melodic pop showcasing singer/lyricist Bre Loughlin's infectiously honest voice (Sugar), stripped down vulnerability (Saturated), and raw, challenging intensity (Every Girl). This collection is heavy, engaging, and beautiful.
Much of Kumasound's passion comes from the colors found in darkness with the musical stylings similar to Curve, Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees, PJ Harvey, and Hooverphonic - bands whose spirits are equal parts inspiring and haunting, layering rhythms and textures one on top of the other. The guitars converse with a musical respect for each other while sharing space with the programmed tones and keyboard hooks until a colorful tapestry emerges that envelops the listener into an atmospheric experience not to be missed.

This EP is unlike what you would expect...

You just don't hear alot of bands in this town(Seattle) doing this kind of music. And if you do, it's not as believable as how Kuma does it. Looking forward to great things from this band. Only four stars instead of five because they only have four songs on the EP. Need more!
