Kush began in the heart and mind of band leader, Etric Lyons in 2002. After touring around the globe as an accomplished bassist with many acclaimed Canadian artists in a career spanning 30 years, Lyons felt ready to combine his formidable musical talents and experiences into a unique live and recorded concept that is known as Kush. Lyons wanted to inspire on-the-spot composition with other like-minded musicians in a spontaneous way that feeds off of the energy of live audiences and keeps the music constantly fresh.

This is very soothing and fascinating music. It is filled with flaring lights of night megalopolises and high-speed endless motorways. This is a new Kush project named “Endure. Volume One”.

I would characterize this music as elegant jazz-electronica. Kush crosses the borders of smooth jazz and modern electronic music, and creates its own unique style. It has one very particular feature. The music of Kush intoxicates the listener from the first moments and gives him the possibility simply to relax and to drift on its gentle waves. And yet it is melodically refined. Moreover, “Endure. Volume One“ is imbued with beautiful ethnic tunes.

What else might be said about this album? The music of “Endure. Volume One” brings a good mood. These are melodies for the well-being of body and soul. They purify the mind and put it in a meditative state. Kush music is a breezy sea of positive energy.
