Album Notes

Tock Tick is a dreamy, rhythmic track created by Simon Heselev, with excerpts of a reading by Kurt Vonnegut from his novel Slaughterhouse Five woven into the composition.

Not only does the song capture the essence of Slaughterhouse Five, but it is also a timely statement and reflection on the futility of war. In the excerpt, Billy Pilgrim (the protagonist in the novel), having "come unstuck in time", witnesses a war movie.... backwards. In this distorted view, the senseless destruction of war is transformed into what appears to be organized, beautiful creation.

The artwork on the front of the CD is a Kurt Vonnegut original, entitled "Astronomy".

REVIEWS

Good song, CD is a bit dubious
author: Wendy
Overall, an impressive track. Kurt Vonnegut's voice complements the jazz, and the wind and rain noises layered in the background adds a trippy effect. The only downside is that the CD consists only of one song; disappointing, as more samples of Heselev's music with or without Vonnegut's reading would have been excellent. Single would have been five stars with more songs on it, or different mixes of Tock Tick.

Great expression of Vonnegut's words.

Love Vonnegut. What an incredible way to express Vonnegut's words. The music adds just the right feeling to the words. Definitely moving.
