Currently located in Madison, WI, I am looking forward to restarting my musical endeavors here in the midwest. I am proud to have two new cd's out, and there is likely to be more coming shortly after that as well.
As a singer songwriter, I have over forty originals. Most of these I use the steel string which favors altered tunings. I prefer a rich bassy sound to allow the guitar to sound bold and expansive. My songs stand out for a couple reasons. One, my affinity for unique yet
musical chord progressions, thanks in part to some theoretical knowledge, but mostly to a good ear. Two, the full usage of the guitar's potential is rare in singer songwriters, and I do my best to maximize that potential. And third, my songs span a wide range of emotion and
style due to my love of many styles and genres. The songs speak of gratitude, desolation, and all that fits between. I enjoy questioning the world and commenting on and reveling in its absurdity.
As a solo instumentalist, I play both nylon and steel string guitars, and cover a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, new age, Americana,
and original music, which is never easy to classify. Most of the solo guitar playing I do is fingerstyle (aka laptop piano) which allows the guitar to stand alone quite nicely, particularly with the aid of altered tunings.
As a band my music could best be described as postmodern rock. There is metal, power pop, middle eastern, country twang, ethereal, Americana funk, blues, lovely dark (you have to make up some categories), rock fusion, desert surf, arena soundscapes, and more to be added soon. A wide variety makes it difficult to get gigs on cruise ships, but it never gets boring for the listener.
