While Tim Kwiat's (pronounced "quiet") previous releases have consisted of a single disc averaging 12 to 14 songs, this presentation is a MONSTER!!! 2 compact discs containing 41 tracks and spanning 14 years! The set is housed in a double slimline DVD style case with full color insert and a 2 sided color poster. As a recent recording retrospective, "Mod Experiments For A Hip World" could easily be considered a "Best Of" collection, however, the set reaches far beyond album cuts with the inclusion of demos and many previously unavailable recordings.
At the heart of everything is the music! Catchy songs, varying styles, amazing guitar solos, stacks of vocal harmonies, insightful lyrics.... the works!!!!..... With every vocal and instrument performed by the artist on all but four songs...
For those unfamiliar with Tim Kwiat's work, he is a child of the classic Rock genre. The music covers sunny, trippy, hippy, loud, soft, predictable, and obscure. In any case, it is always accessible and typically comes back to haunt you when you are singing the songs in your head an hour after listening!
There is so much here to explore... You will pretty much love everything in this set - and at 41 tacks, this could not be a better purchase!

Somrthing for Everyone

This collection is a well-thought out retrospective ofTim Kiwat's music; from the light and playful (and ironic) "Great Day at the Funeral Parlor" to the ethereal "When You're Free" (a personal favorite) and oh so much more, Tim covers a wide range of musical styles and tastes and handles them all quite capably. I highly recommend this collection and at this price, you just can't beat it for the termendous amount of quality music.
