Album Notes

In the spring of 2004 Kyle Jennings broke into the independent music scene with an impressive debut country album release entitled “SHINE”. The album, which was produced by friend and Steel Guitar juggernaut Bruce Bouton, was released on Jennings’ own independent Dark Horse Records music label in March of 2004. Jennings turned the heads of numerous independent music critics and garnered much attention with self-penned songs like “You Can Hear The Ryman Cry”, “100% Chance of Fog”, and the spiritually self-questioning ballad, “Can I Run In The Dark (And Still Walk In The Light). “Out In The Parking Lot”, another track from the album written by Darrell Scott and Guy Clark was also picked up by Brad Paisley and made into a duet with living legend Alan Jackson on Brad’s 2005 release,” Mud On The Tires”.

While the success and popularity of Jennings’ live performances and the sales of “SHINE” independently have been impressive, his music has still eluded the national network of regular mainstream commercial airplay. Riveting high-energy live performances laced with a unique personal delivery make Jennings a natural entertainer on stage. His devoted willingness to create opportunities to meet with his followers along with a rock solid collection of well-written material presents Jennings with a hard-core loyal fan base.

As an artist Jennings embraces the roots of the traditional foundation he grew up with, while pursuing a more progressive traditional country flare. Cross-genre influences like Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, Nickelback, and Dave Matthews personify the profound lyrical standard he demands of in his own material, while traditional country icons such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and George Jones secure a stronghold in country music.

His poignant and poetic lyrical compositions are rare for an artist his age; yet still seem to be in the early stages of development. Covering a broad spectrum of topics from religion to politics, and from heroes to heartache, Jennings isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to his music.

Kyle Jennings brings not only raw, pure talent, but he brings honesty, integrity, and an all-american charm to the stage. His soulful, energetic traditional country sound is greeted with open arms by fans, and his charismatic stage presence only multiplies with every performance. Passionately devoted to his fans, Jennings always makes time to meet with anxious followers and devotedly stays until the last fan is greeted.

I saw Kyle perform live at the CMA music festival in Nasville in 2006 and he blew me away. He is a true talent and this album is a must have for any country fan! "You Can Hear the Ryman Cry," 100% Chance of Fog," and "Down the River" are my personal favorite songs, but this whole album is AMAZING!
