Playing what he calls a style of "acousticfolkyfunkrock," you can find Kyle Moreland on an average Saturday night in the local coffee shop, wooing the hearts and ears of his audience. After playing and writing for seven years, the singer-songwriter from Kansas has been playing live shows since 2001. "There’s something amazingly exciting about taking something that you’ve created and throwing it out into the world - seeing how it is received," says Kyle. "There’s just an element of fun in gathering a group of people together with some music and hopefully giving them something more than what they came there with." And that’s exactly what his audience gets.
Kyle’s sound is exactly what he says it is, driving acoustic guitar riffs that will run round your head for days and melodies that capture your heart and bring your tapping feet along for the ride. Beyond the catchy but inventive tunes like those in "Backburner," "Where Madness Lives," and "Stargazer," is a heartfelt message and lyrical content that will challenge both your heart and mind. Kyle’s music isn’t just by chance, but definitely has an intended message which shines through each and every track. At the core, Kyle says his message is "that there is a world of life to be lived that is beyond our sight but not beyond our reach - and getting there is the hardest and best thing you can ever do." After an evening at his show or a first listen to his album, the listener is sure to walk away with a whole lot more than they arrived with.
Both the artist and the music have a definite magnetic pull that is bound to captivate anyone who comes near, and in watching him speak or sing, it is quite easy to see that Kyle is a musical breath of fresh air. This is the real deal, a raw and refreshing sound for music lovers everywhere. And after hearing this soulful and inspiring artist, your ears and heart won’t want to settle for anything less than amazing.

Great writing, plus smooth guitar licks

I knew Kyle was a melodic guitar player, but until listening to this album, I wasn't aware of how engaging his lyrics can be. This is an album filled with stories, which draw you into the songs. I put it next to James Taylor, Josh Ritter and Joe Purdy as albums I turn to for smart storytelling.

Unique Lyrics and out-of-box arranging
author: Wyatt Johnston
I have had my hands on this CD for about a month now. The lyrics alone are worth buying the CD. They detail interesting stories, you will replay songs just to catch the intricate nuances of each song. From song to song you know that the song actually changed, each has its own finger print. Musically it is interesting as well. Its solid, some of the recording techniqe used becomes noticible after several repeats, really makes it a great listen, instruments recorded in different ways makes each fit into each song perfectly. If you don't have it, you should!
