A trippy soundtrack-like journey from Urban electronica to latin exotica. This insane combination or rock, dub, space-age beats and world grooves blows away the listener with it's warm originality achieved by unique musical textures. Great album cover des

Album Notes

Being driven by a constant musical hunger, always searching for new influences and experimental techniques, Doron Barness refuses to be generalized in one musical genre, crossing from progressive and classic rock to contemporary electronic beats and strong latin influences. By artistically utilizing studio and conceptual techniques, the music evolves into a ride through time and place, liquefying the boundaries between musical cultures.

Growing up as a pianist, Barness began his earliest explorations playing classical and jazz pieces. Being multi talented, he graduated at the faculties of Musicology (BA) and Physics (MSc.). Today he's is working on his PhD. thesis in physics, while making music - as a daily routine. To those who wonder how those two combine, he would say that these are two highly correlated aspects of creativity and imagination occupying the same mind, put down to earthly forms, or according to Albert Einstein:
" If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. "

"K. Zustang's album (Shruti & the Inventional Box) is the most interesting Israeli piece, I have come across this year… The physics related alias of the originator implies on the musical content of the album: Dub and Hip-Hop rhythms, wrapped in noises, voices, scratching and hidden, yet effective guitars, all of which simulate the daily pace of a futuristic society, living in the piercing mind of Barness".
Ari Katorza, Ynet news

"Barness has created an album with 8 long and longer tracks, without a dull moment. It wanders from Big-Beat through beautiful lo-fi (Morning Phase with O. Shary on drums) to post-rock. In addition to the variety in styles, Zustang has quite a composing talent, and an original approach for each of the genres to which he chooses creating an Atari version…Barness succeeds (despite the fact that like the people behind the Third-Ear, he is originally a rocker) in generating from the magical clash between negations the track "Final Fuzz", a ruthless, dance-floor killer, and a climax in the album, which deserves a lot more attention than it will receive."
Sa'ar Ben-Porat, 42 magazine

"The new Zustang agenda incorporated the making of a, basically, electronic fusion album….in which "rock" elements (sampled or not) are merely a bonus that varies, enhances and pumps-up the musical layers…a rich and fruitful album in which the electivity and versatility actually work in its favor."
The blind Janitor, music portal

"The musical essence is electronic, nevertheless, the achievement lies in the interdisciplinary mixture. Programming ,samplers, bass, drums and analog synths…This is not another dancy club trance. This is an album needs listening to. A wide diversity of styles which does not screen the focus of whole…sweeping rhythms interlaced in personal patting themes; Funky-grooves entangled with sounds reminiscent of some Genesis and ELP; Roughly Elegant; All mixed into a one multi layered composition, coherent and rather mature…at times, fascinating."
"Tel-Aviv" magazine
