Album Notes

"La Clase Obrera" is, at it's core, the work of singer-songwriter Michael Laveck. Michael received his first acoustic guitar while he was living in Whitehorse (NORTHERN! Canada) in 1994. He's still at it 12 years later... living and playing in Busan, S.Korea!

His debut album, "to ward", was recorded in his apartment in Korea. Michael recruited the talent of Patrick Carle (viloin, backing vocals) and David Miller (bass, backing vocals) to make this project happen. Along the way many other talented people also contributed such as: Remco Dalmaijer (banjo), Jon Frymire (slide guitar), Stefan Edlund (organ)...and even Michael's son, Aubrey Laveck (on the title track...). Once the initial tracking was finished, Michael flew to Stockholm, Sweden and assisted Stefan Edlund with the final mix.

Recently, Michael has teamed up with collaborator and friend Stefan Edlund to start the independent record label "mica mountain works" and is involved in a side-project with Stefan and Per Wallman, currently reffered to as "the e-band". And of course, he is busy writing and recording songs for the next la clase obrera album.
