Lafayette Reed
Singer/Actor/Producer

Lafayette has been a man on a mission for years and his debut album, "I'm Ready" on Connoisseur Records, only cracks the surface of this prolific singer, songwriter, producer. The lead single, "Momma", is a gutsy down home ballad saluting mothers everywhere. It acknowledges the contribution and sacrifices made in the lives of children by the mothers of the world. Lafayette's music influences really shines through after listening to his rendition of the Donny Hathaway hit "I Love You".

His roots date back to the age of four, when he began singing in the church. By age ten, Lafayette was known as "the little man with the big voice". At nineteen, Lafayette was touring with the R&B bands ETC and Royal Court. Prolific in playing keyboards, guitar, drums, percussion and organ, this self-taught musician studied music Theory and Business Administration at Iowa Western College. He has produced such artist as Bobby Brown, Ollie Woodson {formally of the Temptations}, and Old Skool. At the age of Ten, Lafayette opened for the Late, Great, Marvin Gaye in Gary, Indiana. Lafayette has toured with R&B greats such as, Prince, Aretha Franklin Charlie Wilson {Gap Band} Gerald Levert, Millie Jackson and Keith Sweat. Lafayette has toured with Gospel production plays" Sugar Daddy" and "Why do good girls date bad Guys", and Bishop Eddie Long in the Gospel play "The Wiz". Lafayette was called to sing a Duet with Ann Nesby in Detroit, MI. Replacing Al Green; who had a prior Engagement.

In 2002, Lafayette appeared on the ATL Bomb Squad Compilation with Ludacris and Sammy Sam (The Hit Man). During the year 2004, Lafayette was busy with great Artists from all over; He was in concert with the West Coast All-Stars Band,
(featuring Howard Hewitt, Ann Nesby, and Val Watson) also in concert with Frankie Beverly and Maze. He also sang backup for BeBe Winans in his Gospel Production (King Solomon Lives).
