Fourteen original songs by GENE LAFOND - a founding member of the band "THE MERE MORTALS".

"THE WILD UNKNOWN" CD contains songs made for drivin' down the road singin' at the top of your lungs. It's all about the songs - FOLK, RATTLE and ROLL.

GENE LAFOND performed two years in a row at NEIL YOUNG'S BRIDGE BENEFIT CONCERT in San Francisco along with his longtime friend the late LARRY KEGAN (who moved out of present tense on that infamous day September 11th, 2001). They also have opened for friends BOB DYLAN, RAMBLIN' JACK ELLIOTT, KINKY FRIEDMAN and many more.

"THE WILD UNKNOWN" was produced by legendary Minnesota musician WILLIE MURPHY. Willie produced BONNIE RAITT'S first breakthrough album, the cult favorite "RUNNING JUMPIN'STANDIN' STILL," all of SPIDER JOHN KOERNER'S Albums as well as many albums of his own style of funky music.

GENE LAFOND'S acoustic guitar and vocals are backed by WILLIE MURPHY on bass and keys, the fine electric guitar of DAN LUND and drummer DONNY DOYLE.
