Excellent Collection of Irish music

This is an extremely nice collection of both instrumental and vocal Irish Traditional Music (mostly traditional.)

The main vocalist (Mick, I think) has a good strong tenor voice that is pleasant to listen to throughout. He sounds "down home" on Tell Me Ma and almost "operatic" on She Moved Through The Fair. There are other vocalists featured most notably on Óró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile (easy for them to say) with both male and female vocals sang in octaves and a different male vocalist on the old favorite, Whiskey In The Jar.

The tunes/songs are very well performed with varied instrumentation ranging from very sparse(one or two instruments) to full (as many as 7? possibly 8? instruments.) Either way the arrangements all seem to be very effective and never lacking or cluttered.

I found this CD by accident while searching Irish/Celtic music and decided to purchase it after listening to the samples. I'm a music professor at a major University and needed to find traditional Irish music to present to one of my classes on ethnic music. This is a nice find indeed!
