Album Notes
La Lucha is a trio that consists of three best friends from three different parts of the world; Colombia, Mexico & United States. We have made a conscious choice to feature the group rather than only an individual on our first album together.

This recording represents an important step in the musical direction of La Lucha. Our group prides itself on having a wide variety of musical influences. Although we are a Jazz trio at heart, we depart from the standard Jazz repertoire to focus on music that has influenced us and our generation. We treat this music with the same respect we treat the venerable Great American Songbook. These songs are: “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, “Change (In The House Of Flies)” by The Deftones, “Yes It Is” by The Beatles and “Toxic” by Britney Spears. The remaining three tracks, include two original compositions by drummer Mark Feinman, which together form a ‘micro-suite’ and “P.L.”, an original composition by bassist Alejandro Arenas. Music, to us, transcends genres and classifications. We think of our music as living pieces of art as they will continue to breathe and grow with our commitment to them. La Lucha invites you to listen and enjoy our conversation on this recording.
