The New Pet Sounds
author: Captain Melody
I have reviewed hundreds of albums online at captainmelody.blogspot.com but it is rare to discover new talent this good right out of the gate.
Lamar Holley has created a unique sound that combines elements of the Beatles, Beach Boys, Jellyfish, Polyphonic Spree and Ben Folds. He calls it a pop musical.
The album is dynamic with rock tracks "Biology" and "Pretend that She's Ugly", slower but catchy tunes "Flower" and "Secretly" and full-on orchestrations "This is True" and "Around Me."
This album is great, and can be enjoyed by all ages.

I confess I'm obsessed!
author: Steve Holesko
I came across this album through a Facebook friend and I must admit I'm completely blown away. This music is crafted with such beautiful layers it gave me chills numerous times. I don't have enough time to break apart every track in the way they deserve so I will end this with a few of my favorite highlights. The "Overture" before "Biology" gives a small taste of what is in store for the following tracks. It is lush and powerful. I'm listening to album as I write this and I begin to see that giving highlights isn't even possible. This WHOLE album is a treasure that will be playing on my stereo for a long time! You won't regret buying this album that is genius in every sense of the word.

Confessions of a College Student
author: Marc Emmick
Singer-songwriter Lamar Holley is a promising new artist who sounds like a younger Ben Folds, writes unusual and memorable pop songs with a definite “Beatles-like” feel, and tops them off with some amazing harmonies and a kind of vocal counterpoint we haven’t heard since the Beachboys were in their prime.
For his recently released concept album, Confessions of a College Student, Lamar has created an eclectic collection of pop songs that tell a story as he takes a wistful and often whimsical look back at his college days. Baby Boomers who remember the Beatles and Beachboys will love Lamar’s retro sound at the same time he is attracting a whole new generation of teenagers and young adults with his contemporary version of a classic style that still appeals to all different age groups. With this album, Lamar Holley may well do for 60s style music what Michael Buble has done for swing and standards, making it all sound so fresh and new and exciting to today’s audiences!
