What others are saying:

A great sense of musical style mixed with a cynical almost sinister streak of humor…fantastic blend of music and mayhem...so much more than merely 'great.'
- Marian Sanborn, Blackmail Promotions, Seattle, Washington

What's most interesting …is the musical styles including rock, jazz, pop and blues. As a writer, John is cynical sometimes, soft and introspective at other times.
- Frankie C, More Sugar Entertainment, Putnam Valley, NY

Cool, keyboard-driven …mood rock - Christopher Arnott, New Haven Advocate

Lamb seems to have found his voice in this blues-based jazz-flavored brand of rock
- Terri Lagerstedt, Fairfield County Weekly

What John “LambBone” Lamb is saying about the record in 2007:

This is it. The record that changed everything because I was not only the singer and songwriter – which I had done before – but the main instrument as well. This is really the one that leads to the new album I’m finishing up now. On that one I play all the instruments, but in some case that’s just piano or piano and vocals. That’s REALLY putting yourself out there. Well this record was as far as I had put myself out there to date. No hiding behind a guitar for chords and solos. It’s all me.

I never actually prepared for the fact that there aren't really any breaks when playing out. Every sdong is me singing, then me soloing, then me singing - well you get the idea. It's pretty scary at first, but after a while you get used to it and it's really great.

We recorded the record in the basement of my house. I know that’s kind of a cliché but it’s true. Of course I did build a couple of rooms to record in down there.

Eric and Brian recorded their parts in just two sessions. They were great. And Mark Hermann kept the whole thing together. He helped me pick the songs, helped me with the arrangements, and told me when the lyrics were right. Hermann is a great producer.

For the live shows, first it was Brett Bottomly on bass and Kirk Snedeker on drums. Then Eric played most of the gigs. That was just before he got the gig with the original cast of “Love, Janis.” That ran off Broadway a couple years and is still touring around the country off and on.

The new album is really the follow up to this one. The "LambBone: Am what I Am" record (available at CD Baby) is a different sort of feel. It has guitar and a lot of guest musicians, which make that record great, but not the intimate album this one is - or the one I'm working on. I know, I know you all want to know the title of the new record and all the tracks and so on. But I don't think it's right to decide all that stuff until the tracks are mixed. That's happening in January of 2008. So stay tuned. Something new is coming soon.

Anyway, this is still one of my best works ever. More on it later.
