_________________________________________

Born on February 22 in Paris, LamieLa came to settle in Casablanca with her grandparents, when she was one year old. She grew up within a family which adores music. Her grandmother “Mama Douja”, who is like her mum, always plays piano, her aunt is a painter, her uncle is a pianist… Which explains extremely well her leaning since a young age towards singing, dancing and even acting. Ginger Rogers, the famous partner of Fred Astaire, as well as other giants of the American music-hall, had already awakened her sense of art.

Meanwhile, LamieLa had an ordinary primary and secondary schooling. Thereafter she studied at a Canadian school of Computer Science and electronics. She obtained the highest honors of her class and was supposed to pursue her studies in Canada; But her destiny was to stay in Morocco where she has finally been encouraged by her family to start singing. They appreciate her voice which they compare to the big stars of Jazz.
So, LamieLa started to realize a part of her childhood dream and began to learn singing in a self-educated way. Thanks to this adventure, she discovered her vocal tendencies and the world of Jazz, Blues and Gospel.

LamieLa shows her multiple musical talents by interpreting the great classics of Jazz, Soul, funk, pop music, etc… She usually sings “New York New York”, “La Vie En Rose”, "Bohemian Rhapsody"...
She sang and still sings in the most famous and prestigious hotels , restaurants and piano-bars throughout various countries like Morocco, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Lebanon, etc…
She also performs at festivals, great events and private parties like "The Jazz Festival" in Brussels, the "Jazzablanca Festival" in Casablanca where big stars of jazz and blues were also present like "Al Jarreau", "Lucky Petterson", "Diane Reaves", "Michel Jonasz" and many others....
LamieLa recorded an album called "Oriental Soul" in Morocco in 2001/2002.
She was rewarded in 2002 as the best French-speaking singer at the 6th "Tremplin des étoiles" in Montelimar (France).

She performed and has been interviewed in different Moroccan Radio and TV shows like “100% Jeune”, “Tempo”, “Entr’Act”, "Radio Aswat", "Radio MFM", “Tel Est Ton Coeur” a TV show for children who suffer from cardiac insufficiencies, etc… And also in Belgian and French radio stations like "Radio Nostalgie Belgique" and "Radio France Bleu".
She has also made different commercials in Morocco; this is an additional way for her to achieve a part of her dream: to become an actress, while she’s waiting to really realize it!

At the time of Josephine Baker’s hundredth birthday (1906-2006), LamieLa recorded an album composed of the most popular songs of this American star with jazz variations, passing by the groove, the soul music, the music hall and a light touch of oriental in some songs. "Vénus d'ébène" is an original song talking briefly about J. Baker's life.
