Lanan Adcock is one of Montreal’s finest emerging talents. The former front-woman of Touch, and a regular on the Montreal scene playing with bands such as the Fiery Furnaces, Young Galaxy and Joseph Arthur she has taken part in the Pop Montreal festival year after year and earned herself a MIMI (Montreal International Music Initiatives) nomination for her first EP.
Inspired by a series of unfortunate events, Lanan dove into a more personal approach to songwriting and her first full-length album was born. Horses & Hounds has a pulse of its own.
Recorded by Adrian Popovich the co-founder of Mountain City in Montreal (Stars, Sam Roberts, The Dears, Priestess) this deeply textured album draws upon the influences of Patti Smith, Nick Cave and Neil Young among others.
Tackling the age-old themes of love and death, the songs are honest and often dark taking you through the morass of her heavy mind and bleeding heart.
