Lance Blisters is a musician and hacktivist based in New York City who since 2004 has been performing live as a digital singer-songwriter. Lance performs with microphone and MIDI guitar, using real guitar strings to control homemade software.
After years of playing squats, underground parties, clubs, and festivals in America, Europe and Japan Lance Blisters releases his debut album. The album is a high-energy mashup of punk, jungle, and protest influences. "I want to bring a sense of urgency and energy to political issues that can be depressing and, sadly, mundane."
"It is political but I try not to preach. Each song takes a simple idea, traces it from a certain angle or boils it down to a chorus. I want people to sing along, to carry a song in their heads, absorb the message, draw on that energy in their daily lives."
What people are saying:
If that day comes when life as we know it now is over and Mad Max is the order of things, we will need people like Lance Blisters in our underground oasis to keep the power on and the music running... Lance is a circuit bender/software programmer/electronic twister extraordinare who will once again be shredding our preconceptions of sound, music and live performance with his latest project. Like a cyborg Johnny Cash sent from the future to prevent it, Lance unleashes a torrent of apocalyptic audiovisual propaganda on those within blast radius. Jungle, breakcore, punk and noise, photos video and illustration, singing and songwriting are mashed up into a potent weapon of shock and awe, and used to smash the state. 22nd Century protest music, wargasmic revolution.

Downtown NYC's Lance Blisters has been on the scene for years now performing his live punk breakcore sound via his own GDAMM software. He's finally honed his set into a solid CD of innovative tracks. Live, he plays a midi guitar in which the frets trigger manic breaks, as well as crusty punk guitar licks all accompanied by punk screams and a video backdrop. Equal parts angry punk, laptop impressario and tongue-in-cheek mash-up, the CD succeeds as one of the best anarcho-punk breakcore laptop hybrids we've ever heard... if not the only one! Fun and original.
