The Lance James Project consists of Calypso Caliente - Duo,Trio, or Quartet with keyboard, steel pans, and congas - and the Lance James Project which includes: Nick Longo and Charles Evans, drums; Dave Smith, bass; George Sovak and Dave Davis, sax and flute; Winston Fischer, guitar; James Walker, steel pans/vibes www.malletjazz.com ; and Dwight Baldwin, signed artist with Latin Percussion.
Lance delivers his version of smooth jazz with a cutting edge” with his CD Friends and Strangers which is sold in the Northeast at Tower Records. Giving praises to the ancestors made for a truly spiritual experience while producing this noted album. So turn off the lights, light a candle, put on Friends and Strangers , and the rest is up to you.

After seeing Lance perform Live - I had to purchase his CD and I must say that it is one of the best that I have purchased it a long time. I am looking forward to the next one. Keep up the good work Lance!!!!!
Three thumbs up for a Jazz album thats smoother than ice.
author: Pamela BurkeI purchased Friends and Strangers and have been slowly swaying to each and every cut. Like the finest of wines it seems to go with everything (the mood, location and great on the road). Each song is better than the other until you hear the first again. Start with "Friends and Strangers" and then become electrified with "I Miss you, Mr.Howard" and chill on "Really Love". Smooth, creative, fresh and new. Thank you Mr.James, I give you three thumbs up and await your next CD with total excitment and anticipation.
