Album Notes

Combining the best of the past with sweetest of the new, Lander Live at Mississippi Studios is a beautiful recording that spans the years of Stenson’s writing and captures true the intimate Spring evening. May 17, 2007.

Opening with four solo tracks and naturally progressing into a dozen full band compositions, this recording gracefully walks you through rocking highs and mellow lows on the front row, live at the infamous Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR.

-------------

Born in Lander, WY Tyler Stenson (28) considers himself a cowboy. Now Portland based, he humbly writes of those days as if a Midwestern Poet; blending the old countryside with the new cityscape and delivering his elegant songs from the heart, simple and true.

Twice named Portland's Performing Songwriter of the Year (2007 & 2008) and boasting a host of other professional acknowledgments, Stenson’s poignant sound is putting lumps in throats and attracting a train of followers that find a piece of themselves in the sincerity of his words and the authenticity of his performances.

Former songwriter and front-man for his bands Rhetoric Tuesday and Lander, Stenson can now be found returning to his folk roots where lyrics are king. Combining his soothing vocals, understated elegance, contagious melody and classic storytelling, Stenson has set out to brave the national scene and create something powerfully timeless with his signature sound.

REVIEWS

I Love This Album
author: Grant Bushman
Although not typically a fan of "Live" performances, this is a an EXCELLENT album. This is a very heart-felt and passionate experience. It is great to hear an artist that isn't just trying to reproduce the same-old, same-old. The music isn't overpowering, but provides the perfect foundation for the hauntingly true lyrics. I wish the album had about 10 more tracks. This is by far my best CD Baby purchase.

More laid back than Rhetoric Tuesday and perhaps more use of space and intimacy within the music. This album is simply stunning.
