Deborah has been consumed by music ever since she was old enough to string notes together. Born and bred in the East Midlands of England, she dabbled in a number of instruments before finding her passion: the piano. She started composing as early as nine and eventually came to blend her voice into her songs.
Deborah moved to London when she was 18 to pursue a career in the sciences. Deep down, however, she knew this was not the path for her. She had always wanted to live a life of music but found no encouragement for a lifestyle without financial security. This all changed when itchy feet took her from her homeland on a backpacking trip from which she would never return (except for fish and chips!). She learned to play the guitar so she could write music on the road, carting around a little half-size guitar, named Jerry, in an improvised carrying case made out of shower curtain and tape.
After finding inspiration in the world abroad, Deborah met a Canadian chap named Nick at an open mic in Vancouver. Nick
encouraged her to pursue a musical career and they eventually married (some things you just can't fight!). Her itchy feet have since been relieved and her feet are now firmly planted in Vancouver.
In her singing career, Deborah has done background vocals for the heavy metal band, Strapping Young Lad (Albums: Alien, The New Black) and The Devin Townsend Band (Synchestra). She also did background vocals on Gwar's latest album (Welcome to Hell).
Deborah has also scored and written songs for numerous independent short and feature films.
