Album Notes

Began as a solo artist in 1996. After various changes the formation now includes the following: VO, G, G, B, DR, DR, SYN. The layered sound, which is produced both acoustically and digitally, wraps up naamユs soft, female visionary voice and stays close to it. What is brought to life from the curious harmonies is not chaos; it is a wistfully yet new world of sound like a watercolor painting.

REVIEWS

A brilliant and charming export. I'm in love.

This might be the most criminally overlooked album I have yet to come across. Her voice is indescribably beautiful and comforting, while the instrumentation is top-notch and extremely original; combining elements of jazz, folk, and indie. It wouldn't surprise me if Feist received the majority of her inspiration from this brilliant export. At seven songs it may seem short, but the experience is complete. Buy this album and I guarantee you will have not only become obsessed, but you will fall deeply in love with both she and this charming album.

Like that part-psychedelic, otherworldly, mysterious pocket between wakefulness and sleep, this gorgeous female folk curls and floats like smoke, wispy and transparent and taking on a form that is on the edge of formlessness. Naam' cites influences such as Mice Parade, The Books, Prefuse 73 and Bjork but in essence, her music is wholly unique and captivating, so fully intoxicating that the mind is wiped blank of preconceptions and expectations. Her music, both drawing from folk and rock vocabulary, has a magical knack for centering on a single, wholesome idea and exploring its depth and potential to an exquisite degree. This is one beautifully expressive album.
