Album Notes

More of You is Lani\'s grown-up version of the music she loved as a kid (musicals, children\'s songs, bubble-gum pop and homegrown folk). Her songs focus on layered harmonies and catchy melodies, most anchored by piano and all supported by a variety of other instruments, including cello, trumpet and harmonica.

A Rich Experience

Fantastic album. Lani has a deep, richly textured voice that is rare in pop music. Her songwriting is simple and accessible, covering the day-to-day emotions in a \"Dock of the Bay\" sort of way. It gives you the opportunity to sit back and enjoy everything on the album. Music\'s supposed to be fun, right? Buy the album, and when you\'re in a deep, reflective mood, put this on and have fun losing yourself to the melody.

If you love layers of gorgeous harmonies, and fantastic vocalists in the vain of Sarah McLachlan or Norah Jones, I highly recommend this purchase. Lani\'s debut solo effort is just one of those feel-good albums with exemplary songwriting, catchy hooks and beautiful harmonies, reminiscent of the Bangles at their best. (I dare you to try to listen to Follow Me Home, and NOT hum it for the rest of your day!) Highlight tracks include \"Pretending\", \"More Of You\", \"Coffee & Cigarettes\", and the aforementioned \"Follow Me Home\". All in all, the tracks flow beautifully from one to the next, and the album doesn\'t try to be anything but what it is -- a collection of just really solid songs that won\'t escape you once you let them in. A most promising debut that leaves me with great anticipation for a follow-up....

I really like this album. It has a great mix of songs – everything from catchy pop oriented tunes (Coffee and Cigarettes and House and Dog Song) to the enchanting, almost haunting (More of You). Great first effort. I highly recommend checking it out.
