Album Notes

KING LAOGHAIRE is a group of six people who share a mutual interest in traditional Irish/Scottish ballads and dance music. Based in Vänersborg, Sweden, the band first started in 1991 as an acoustic experiment in a rock bands regular repertoire. In early 1992 the acoustic side of the group had taken over. This soon led to the bands first release in 1993, Some Irish Stew. The band has toured extensively in Scandinavia and the last couple of years they teamed up with dance groups from Stockholm in an annual show called Celtic Night.

The band on this recording:
Peter Andersson: tenor banjo & vocals
Leif Andersson: guitar
Anki Asklund: flute & vocals
Markus Svensson: nyckelharpa & vocals
Henrik Wüst: bass & vocals

The line-up as of today:
Martin Rahmberg: guitar & vocals
Peter Andersson: tenor banjo, mandolin & vocals
P-O Johansson: accordion
Per Andersson: tin whistle & banjo
Gjert Magnusson: bass, fiddle, button accordion & concertina
Björn Lindgren: guitar & mandolin
