Album Notes

Larke's sophomore album release represents a giant sonic leap from his first: the hooks are sharper; the production brighter; the lyrics wittier and the themes truly universal. Recorded over a period of six months at Still Bliss Studios, Kanagawa, Japan, 'Going For The Pop Jugular' is a short, sharp burst of fresh air, sunshine pop-style. The name says it all; the melodies are memorable, the lyrics evocative and the songs fresh. The album condenses a wide variety of experiences into bite-sized pop treats, encompassing romantic introspection (Probably Not The One, Taken), holiday themes (Stay Forever, That's Island Style), instrumentals (Bali Audible) and experimental pieces (Shave an Ape).

Also included is a bonus track, 'Le Boyfriend II', which is a reprise of the live favourite (Le Boyfriend) from Larke's debut album, done 'sunshine-style'.

Personnel:

Acoustic guitars, vocals, backing vocals, harmonica, percussion Larke
Electric and lead guitars, programming, bass, keyboards Jesse Pritchard
Violin (on 'Taken') Chris Koh
