"Steve Larkman possesses strength as a singer and a songwriter; his voice on "Tearjerker" is a rich, multi-tonal vessel as comfortable in the gutter as it is up with the angels".

Steve Larkman - 'Tearjerker'
Please listen carefully to this debut album from Steve Larkman. It is a superb example of true pop music for the ears of today. Here are 15 original songs that are by definition difficult to categorise but comments such as "Thin White Dove is a brilliant tune"-(Johnny Hero, Downtown Radio) and "His voice is a rich, multi-tonal vessel, as comfortable in the gutter as it is up with the angels"-(Michael Ornadet, LOGO Magazine), give an idea of what to expect from this record.
Steve has performed since the age of 12 when he played drums at the school hall. He learned guitar and started to write songs and his first band 'The Crack' had their debut single released by J.S.O. Records and played on Radio 1. Over the years he learned about sound, lighting and promoting live gigs, performing with his own bands to make a living. He set up a recording studio and it's reputation for producing great music spread attracting some famous names such as U2 producer Howard Gray and David Bowie's brilliant guitarist, Mick Ronson. During this period Steve also worked as a producer for Virgin Records in some of the UK's top studios. Now Steve has written, recorded and produced this debut album 'Tearjerker'. The songs are all about the unaccountable proceedings of modern love and life. Don't worry about the title, there's no gloom, with inspirational lyrics like "I'll never let love get out of my way" on the beautifully crafted 'Have you ever been Blue' and "if I could get to where you are, I'd be swinging on a star" on 'Black & Blue' uplifting and leaving you feeling good. There are hooks, riffs and more hooks with a lot of variation, funky and edgy in 'Diamonds', sexy and guitar driven for 'Eloise' and wry, catchy and upbeat in 'Everybody wants to be a Star'. The lead track 'Thin White Dove' has received a great deal of international radio play and after hearing it you'll want to press rewind, to hear it again...and again....and again! There are lots of hits on this album so it's hard to decide which song is your favourite - you may keep changing your mind the more you listen.
Tearjerker is on sale in the UK from VIRGIN and HMV RECORDS.
