Larry Callahan & Selected of God was birthed in the heart of Pastor Larry Callahan and by his obedience to God was established in November 2002 in the Gospel Mecca Detroit, Michigan. Selected of God is a community based choir whose mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ through song.

Larry Callahan & Selected of God have graced the stage with some of Gospel’s premier musical talents such as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kurt Carr, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee, Tramaine Hawkins, The Nashville Super Choir, Deitrick Haddon, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong and many more. Their travels include churches and concert halls in Indianapolis, Indiana – Colombia, South Carolina - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Chicago, Illinois - Virginia Beach, Virginia and numerous churches and venues in their home city Detroit. Larry Callahan & Selected of God have also been featured guests at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the 2003 Stellar Awards.

In October 2008, Larry Callahan & Selected of God had the honor of being deemed the “Best Small Choir in the Detroit Region” at the How Sweet the Sound choir competition sponsored by Verzion Wireless. This event was held at Joe Louis Arena in Downtown Detroit and was attended by thousands. In November 2008 they were named “Best Choir” during the Singers and Musicians Conference Competition hosted by Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole. Also in November 2008, Larry Callahan & Selected of God won the Detroit Gospel Showcase Choir Competition.
