Album Notes

While watching a t.v. program, I was inspired about a story I heard of a guy named, Brushy Bill Roberts, of Texas. He had claimed to be the real Billy The Kid. After listening about the story of this man, I thought that it could be true myself and decided to write a song about it. He actually tried to get a pardon but suddenly people wanted to have him prosecuted for what he done in the past and I guess somebody stepped in and said no, this guy is an imposter, he's not the real Billy The Kid. It was said something on those lines I believe. I thought the guy had a lot of nerve and if he was lying or not, it would make a good song. So I named the CD album just that, Billy Didn't Die. The song is more on a rock style, I thought it was more appropiate for the story. The man never went to jail but I heard he ended up dying on the streets of Texas. I've always watched alot of westerns and always enjoyed a good story, especially cowboy stories. I'm glad I heard his story because without it, I couldn't have written my song. Other songs like, Play The Guitar, This Man, and Without You, and Were Gonna Make It, was written for my girlfriend. Two Harmonica's was written for my Dad who passed away. And also Ohio Hill was written for the people out in Hamilton Ohio where my Dad lived. Sunday's I listen to only gospel music and the rest of the week I may listen to rock, country, blues, you name it. Alot of people have a standard way of writting. I write the words and music as to the way it feels and I don't have a set standard. I guess that's why my music turns out a little different than the rest.
